Homemade Hashbrowns

Ingredients:

(Makes 4)

  • 3 Maris Piper Potatoes
  • 1/2 White Onion
  • 2 tbsp Plain Flour
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tbsp Blendship Spud Seasoning
  • Lard/Beef Dripping/Oil

Instructions:

  1. Grate the potato and squeeze out as much of the liquid and starch as possible. Then place into a bowl of cold water to rinse off more of the starch.
  2. Grate the onion and add to the potato. Place into kitchen paper or a clean towel and squeeze to remove the moisture, until dry.
  3. Add the potato and onion into a bowl, along with the flour, Blendship Spud Seasoning and the egg. Mix until fully combined.
  4. Divide into 4 (depending on how big you want them) and then form into your desired shape. Do this on baking paper/greaseproof paper so they don’t stick. Place into the freezer for 1 hour.
  5. Heat your chosen oil in a pan, and once hot, carefully add the hash browns. Cook for 7-8 mins on each side, flipping them every few minutes.
  6. Once cooked, remove from the pan onto some kitchen paper to get rid of any excess oil. Sprinkle on some Blendship Spud Seasoning and enjoy! Lovely.
