Homemade Bread
I only had 350g of bread flour left so I just made a small loaf, you could double the ingredients to make a larger loaf.
Ingredients:
- 350g bread flour
- 250ml warm water
- 2 tsp dry yeast
- 1 tsp honey
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
Method:
- In a jug or bowl, mix the yeast, water and honey. Cover and leave for 5-10 mins.
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, salt and olive oil. Then add the yeast mixture.
- Once fully combined, transfer to a flat surface and knead for 8-10 mins. The dough should be smooth and stretchy.
- Place into a greased bowl, cover and leave for 2 hours.
- Punch down the dough to remove the air, then flatten into a rectangle.
- Fold it twice to make a log shape, then place into a greased loaf tin or an oven tray. Cover and leave for 1 hour.
- Optionally, dust with flour and the score the top of the bread. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 180 degrees celcius for 30 mins.
- The bread should sound hollow when you tap on the bottom, if so, it is likely cooked through. Leave to cool on a wire rack and then enjoy!
