Hidden Veg Cheesy Cooking Sauce
This creamy cheesy sauce makes a great replacement for a standard bechamel sauce used for lasagnes, it also works great for macaroni cheese or cauliflower cheese!
Ingredients:
100g sweet potato
1 carrot
1 white onion
1 yellow bell pepper
2 stalks celery
2 garlic cloves
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp honey
100g cheddar cheese
25g Parmesan cheese
1 tsp Blendship SPG Seasoning
1 tsp Blendship Lemon Pepper Seasoning
1 tsp Blendship All Purpose Seasoning
100ml water
Method:
1. Firsly roughly chop all of the veg into small pieces.
2. Add to a large pan with a little olive oil and cook away on a medium heat for 10 mins. Stir every couple of minutes.
3. Add the Blendship seasonings and cook for 2 minutes. Then add the lemon juice, honey and water. Cook for a further 10 minutes.
4. Transfer into a blender, or use a stick blender, and blend until totally smooth.
5. Pour back into your pan and add the parmesan and cheddar cheese. Stir continuously until all cheese has melted. Your cheesy hidden sauce is now ready to use!
Store in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 3-5 days.
